One of a mother’s greatest fears is that she will come to the end of her life with regrets over the way she raised her children. It doesn’t have to be that way. This book offers hope and strategic tools that will help every mother to make changes in herself, her relationship with her children, and her walk with God.
Catherine Hickem offers seven principles of intentional motherhood. She shows moms how they can be intentional about their purpose; why a mom does what she does. Moms are invited to be intentional about knowing their children. How do our children’s struggles interfere with their confidence, value, and potential? Mothers are to be intentional by keeping the vision for their children-the end in mind. Reframing the significance of mistakes from God’s perspective helps scared mothers.
Mothers are shown how to help their children develop emotional intelligence including the ability to identify their own feelings. Understanding this principle helps moms to be insightful, sensitive, and connected to their children. Mothers are challenged to be intentional about maintaining their position of authority and influence without being controlling and to be intentional about being God dependent.

This book is truly life-changing! As I feel called by God in my role as a mother, Catherine clearly defines how God can equip me as a mother through a focused, intentional and purposeful mindset in raising my children. This is not a “How-To” book with 50 new steps/practices for a busy mom. It instead provides a clear and applicable mindset that helps you to view and think differently and effectively about how you embrace and raise your children. I have truly become a “student of my children” as a result of reading this book. The rewards have been many and great – in only a few months! This is a must read for ALL moms!
